New York City Pride Hockey Alliance

For 25 years, the NYCPHA has provided a safe-space for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies that celebrates inclusivity, fosters connection, and champions pride both on and off the ice.

Looking to skate?

Whether you’ve never played hockey or you’ve been on the ice your whole life, there’s a place for you here.

  • Great for beginners, or former players trying to get back into the sport, we run our very own Rec League where the fun of the game comes before competition.
  • Looking to play competitively instead? We have multiple teams you can join with the approval of the team captain.

Fill out this self evaluation form and we will contact you in a few days with options that fits your skill best.

Leagues

Currently we organize several teams in various divisions at Sky Rink Chelsea Piers and LeFrak Center at Prospect Park. We also host holiday scrimmages, and off-ice social events through the year.

Get Involved

Do you want to get behind our cause but don’t play? Not a problem. There’s lots of ways to be a part of our organization, including social media, event planning, tournament organizing, and fundraising.

Financial Aid

The NYCPHA’s Financial Aid Fund was established to assist those in need of financial support to participate in NYCPHA activities. The typical cost to field a team in NYC is upwards of $10,000 resulting in significant costs to our players. Playing ice hockey is not just a sport, but an important part of our member’s lives.

The NYCPHA is a registered Public Charity under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, and is registered under the name New York City Gay Hockey Association (EIN 13-4138055). Every donation helps a skater get on the ice!
